His Cocoon

He's leaving behind,
A world full of sorrow.
He's leaving behind,
A world full of pain.
Wanting to break free,
Wanting to start life afresh
All he wanted was his
Happiness to refresh.
Tired of well, almost everything,
Especially the mind games.
Running away from problems,
"Just leave me alone" he exclaims.
Everything's not the same anymore.
Times change.
People change.
Feelings change, and
A person gets estranged.
Wrapped in a cocoon - he'll be dim
How he metamorphs don't blame him.

Flight E52

This is the second poem I had promised to post..
Still no pics put up. I will soon. Yes I will :D
A Blogger's promise. Anyway, here you go:

He sat by the window,
the window of flight E52.
His seat was by the window,
all he could see was the sky painted blue

"How much more time to land"-
He sat there impatiently waiting,
and there was nothing to do apart from
Clicking pictures and writing.

Five and a half hours,
those were the only things he liked to do.
He was half asleep by the window-bored,
Slept off and woke up when the clouds roared.

He was headed towards Mumbai,
The sun was setting-dark clouds around
It could have rained.
But thank God it didn't

He waited eagerly and heartily
to see
the sea-link amidst the orange-painted sky.

Five and a half hours had gone,
the sky was empty it was dark
No sign of land- still bored, he yawned
yet no sea-link. In the wrong city?
He thought he was.

Descending down,
from the clouds.
Didn’t seem like Mumbai,
fear in his mind grew.

Just going to land,
could see nothing but sand
which surrounded the
long stretch of road.

He was in the wrong city,
definitely he was.
What lay ahead of him,
the answer? Only God has.

That ONE Night

It was a stormy night. It had been raining for seven hours. With two hours to go for Valentine's Day, the heartbroken man walked out of the gates of his building, looking for a taxi. With no umbrella over his head and no windcheater covering his body the man had already been soaked to his skin. His teary eyes stared at the ground, while his hand - raised, calling for a taxi.
After half an hour of waiting, the man finally got a cab. Thirty minutes of waiting was no big thing for him. He had waited a whole year for another memorable Valentine's Day until his date called him and cancelled their plans. For the past five years he had made every Valentine's Day special for that girl. As these thoughts filled his mind, he realized that he had been ignoring the driver's question. "Where would you like to go, Sir?" It was perhaps the fifth time he had asked the man. "Callahan Bridge. Take me there, take your time." That depressed soul ended his sentence with a smile that lasted for less than a second. Throughout the drive to the bridge, the man kept thinking about what had happened. The taxi driver - John and the man started to talk. John had seen tears trickling down the man's face as he adjusted his rear-view mirror. John said to him, "Why are you sad, Sir? Don't like the rains, eh? A slow sad smile crept across the man's face as he looked into the eyes the only thing he could see of the concerned taxi driver. He replied with a sarcastic smile, "Love is a like a mysterious mirage, don't you agree? It traps you in its beautiful illusion but when you're on the brink of reaching it, the beauty of it just seems to disappear. "
The man explained to John how he had been stood up at the last minute by his date on the eve of Valentine's Day. "Her name's Kylie", he said with a sigh. He described to John, how much he loved her. At one of the frequent halts at the red light, the man opened his wallet and showed John a picture of Kylie. As the man sat behind and looked into the rear-view mirror, he saw for some reason anger in John's eyes. The heavy rain reduced into a light drizzle. It was 11:50pm and they were at the Callahan Bridge.
The man got out of the cab and walked towards the railing of the bridge, wanting to be engulfed in the dark waters of the sea which roared beneath the bridge. Before doing so, he removed his phone from the pocket of his trousers and realized he had an unread voice-message. He decided to check his voicemail. It was a message from Kylie! While all this was happening, John was sitting in the taxi with the windows rolled down, parked next to the man who stood besides the railing. He played the message on speaker phone. The voice said, "I'm sorry for what I've done, we need to meet tomorrow and forget our differences - Love Kylie." Sitting in the taxi silently waiting for his money, John had heard everything.
John took out a gun kept in his glove-box, got out of the cab, and walked to the man. "Dear God, it's y-you James", said the man with shock all over his face after seeing John's face completely. John, loaded his gun and shot the man down. A white light flashed in his head. The memories which he adored and hated the most flashed before his eyes. During his last moments he realized that he was the reason why a man in love like him was left broken-hearted on the eve of Valentine's Day five years ago. Yes, Kylie and James were a couple five years ago, till 'the man' came into Kylie's life.
